Safety.
We take safety very seriously.
Our coaches have all undergone rigorous BCU training for kayaking and First Aid. They all hold First Aid certificates undertaken within the last two years.
Sessions will not go ahead if safety is a concern.
First Aid equipment is carried by each coach as well as telecom's and survival equipment.
All equipment is regularly checked and serviced and spare clothing is carried.
Any medical conditions should be brought to the attention of the coach beforehand.
We are underwritten by the BCU's liability insurance against negligence.
Kayaking inherently carries some risk and although these are minimised by avoiding dangerous water / situations, injuries may still occur. Water users are responsible for their own actions within reason (for example following a wait instruction) and must not behave in a manner which could endanger others.
